The lighter and stiffer the scanning system, the greater accuracy in its measurements. The best way to achieve this is with carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CRP), which offers the following advantages:
- Low mass
- Outstanding flexural stiffness
- Thermal stability
CRP changes far less with temperature fluctuations than steel or ceramic and is therefore predestined for use in test instrument technology.
